The UNITRONIC®-FD family of flexible data transmission cables, by Lapp Group is designed for use in robotic, pick-and-place, and factory automation applications in both North America and Europe.

All of the cables in the UNITRONIC®-FD line feature high flexibility for continuous flex, 300 V working voltage, and -5°C to +70°C temperature range. In addition, all UNITRONIC®-FD cables are constructed with finely stranded bare copper conductors, specially blended PVC insulation, talc, non-wicking textile tape, and protective PVC jacket. Conductor sizes range from 26 AWG to 17 AWG.

The UNITRONIC family provides extreme flexibility for data transmission cables. UNITRONIC®-FD and UNITRONIC®-FD P cables have minimum bending radii of 10x cable diameter. UNITRONIC®-FD CY, UNITRONIC®-FD CP, and UNITRONIC®-FD CP paired cables have 15x cable diameter minimum bending radii and overall tinned copper braids for applications where electrical interference distorts signal transmission or EMI emissions need to be suppressed.

A polyurethane outer jacket, that allows for cost-effective operation of machine tools in harsh environments, is included in the UNITRONIC®-FD P, UNITRONIC®-FD CP, and UNITRONIC®-FD CP paired cables. The tear-resistant PUR outer jacket of theUNITRONIC®-FD P and UNITRONIC®-FD CP paired cables is resistant to mineral oils and abrasion in cable track applications. The UNITRONIC®-FD and UNITRONIC®-FD CY cables are designed for automated production processes that require increased flex life characteristics and durability.
