New Conductor Identification Code for Low Voltage Cables & Flexible Cords |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
In January 2003, the HD 308 S2 and DIN VDE 0293-308 were published in Germany, changing the current color code standard used for products built to VDE 0293. Lapp USA will begin to make this change to all of our products built to DIN VDE 0293 in July of 2004. A transitional period has been scheduled up to April 1st, 2006. During this period both the old and new color code may be used. In July, new part numbers will be created for those cables affected by the change to help identify the new color code. The new part number will be made up of the old part number with the number 3 added to the end. Example: part number - 1601129 will become part number – 16011293. However some of our products have already been manufactured with this change, which has caused us to experience minimal exposure to this new standard on select items such as the H05VV-F and the H07RN-F. To avoid confusion, our stock has been separated for proper identification. If you have any questions please contact your local sales representative for more information.
